Comprehensive Long-Term Care Insurance Can Keep You Out of a Nursing Home
Many people equate long-term care with a nursing home. And since that’s someplace they don’t want to go, they don’t think they need a Long-Term Care Insurance policy. A Knights of Columbus comprehensive Long-Term Care Insurance policy is designed to help you get the care you need in the comfort of your own home. Here’s how:
- Stay-at-Home Benefits – Our policy allows you to get the help you need to continue living at home. This includes help with the activities of daily living like bathing and dressing, homemaker services such as grocery shopping, meal preparation and housekeeping, and the professional services of a registered nurse, home health aide or therapist.
- Home Modification/Medical Equipment Benefit – Our policy pays 100% of expenses incurred for structural modification to your home that will allow you to remain in your home, or medical equipment designed and used to treat a sickness or injury, up to the limits stated in the Contract Specifications. (Ask your Field Agent for more details.)
- Care Management Benefit – This is another way our policies help people access policy benefits designed to help you remain safely at home. There’s no elimination period to satisfy for the Care Management Benefit, so a care manager can be assigned right away. The care manager then will assess your needs, develop an individualized plan of care and help arrange for long-term care services. (Ask your Field Agent for more details.)
- Informal Caregiver Training Benefit – Our policy pays for expenses incurred for Informal Caregiver Training received by an informal (unpaid) caregiver for up to the policy limits.
If you know that home is where you want to stay, your Knights of Columbus Field Agent can help you plan for the day when you can no longer manage on your own. A Knights of Columbus Long-Term Care Insurance policy can help pay for the care you may need someday.
